Mongo: As there's been no cache to find for months, I'm archiving it to keep it from continually showing up in search lists, and to prevent it from blocking other cache placements. Geocache Description:

A welcoming 'gateway'

Welcome to Raytown!

Well, I wanted to place a cache near the twin pillars welcoming visitors to our fair city, but that location is too near several other fine caches. So, this is the next best thing.

Several years ago the city of Raytown in conjunction with the Parks Department erected several stone pillars around town, each with a bronze circular plaque depicting the state of Missouri and City of Raytown. Personally, I think they're kind of cool, and a nice gesture to visitors here. The Raytown Parks Department does an awesome job of keeping the landscaping very clean and blooming, and it represents our city well. Please be respectful when hunting for this cache! You do NOT need to dig or trapse in the flower beds or landscaping for this find!

I hope you'll take some time to enjoy these gateway markers, and what they represent of our city. Container is a partially camo'd plastic container with a blue lid. Original contents are: log, a new cool "Hide it, Find it, Log it" travel bug with a slight twist to it, and quite a bit of cool swag especially for the kiddos.

Please DO NOT park on the street near GZ! Suggest parking at the station directly across from it, or better yet crossing the bridge, turn a sharp right, and parking is available there. Then you can cross the new cool footbridge (with wooden planks) back south to GZ. Should be wheelchair accessible; however there is nearly always lots of vehicle traffic at this location so please, PLEASE be careful. And again also please be respectful of the Parks Department landscaping at GZ!

** Placed with permission of Raytown Parks Department - Thanks very much! **
