Description of Dark HQ (now archived) continued for consistency of the plot ;-):
By now we know quite a lot about our Alien co-habitants.
We know how they travelled the universe and the solar system.
We know since 1502 that they are around - even a another publication just confirms what we knew already.
But where did the actually arrive on our planet? At which place?
This question kept me busy for quite some time and I am happy to share the findings of my investigations now with you:
It seems that their spaceship was supposed to land at the above given coordinates. This is obvious when you look at what is there. But despite their multi-dimensional computing capabilities something has gone wrong and they crash-landed on earth!
This must have been quite a traumatic experience for them as they have marked the spot where the spaceship finally came to a rest with a big white cross.
I am not entitled to reveal the location of the white cross - but I am certain you will be able to find it too. Obviously it is in the middle of a big impact crater. Yes, there is such a thing in Brussels!
Until today the organisation located there has a big white X in its name and most surprisingly there is the red debris trail of a falling spacecraft on its logo too. I am certain that this is pure co-incidence ...
When they crash-landed they hit the ground a bit further away first and you can still see the scar that remains until today in our lovely nature. The picture below shows you this scar they have left in our landscape. It seems the aliens still like this place and enjoy the viewpoint that is behind it. Luckily we were able to capture one of the aliens on photo. It is a bit unclear what he is doing there - let's just not assume that he is hunting geocachers ...
This was a Big Scoop then:
Reading these lines you might not believe this, but then in a joint effort with Herostratos we were able to locate the headquarters of the aliens!
Now this was indeed a great accomplishment!
However, this discovery did not come for free. You know already what they can do to geocachers. It once was your task to enter the alien headquarters and to write your name into the logbook that we had left there as a proof of your dedication to geocaching.
We told you where you could find the logbook, but you had to get there yourself. Geocachers that were strong in their heart and mind would find the only known access to the Alien HQ.
Once there, the real challenge started - how to get to the logbook? You had to enter the dark zone and only with endurance you would be able to approach the right place.
Any lack of stealth had resulted in immediate abduction - and you were free to send a help message to get somebody to rescue you (as I had to do previously).
As always: You were doing this at your own risk and we denied any knowledge of this ;-)

This was then - but what has happened since?
You would not believe this!
In a futile effort some humans stormed the alien HQ and took possession of it!
This is clearly the most stupid thing to do one could ever imagine. We have already sufficient evidence of alien interfering with our daily life. To annoy them and to throw them out of their headquarters is certainly not a clever thing to do. As an experienced Geocacher you will certainly agree to this assessment of the situation.
But things are getting worse:
You certainly know the famous Austrian proverb Hasta la vista, baby!
Guess who who was wearing dark glasses there?
Now it came to our attention that the subjects wearing dark glasses are preparing to strike back!
To this end they use a secret training camp. No not in Austria - but here in the middle of Brussels!
It is your task now to enter the alien training camp and to gather intelligence on their activities and status of their preparedness!

Compared to entering the Dark HQ this is much easier now - as the training camp is very large and you find plenty of opportunities to remain unseen.
But do not take this easy! The worst is still to come!
We all know that the species wearing dark glasses was afraid of being confused with bankers. It seems they have changed their strategy since then: I was able to find out that this training camp is owned by a financial institution!
This might explain quite a lot if you follow the news these days. I just wait for the first log where a geocacher reports hearing the aliens using a south-east European language ...
PS: On pictures from the turn of the millennium one can still see the various sport fields and a swimming pool ...
PPS: Please use gloves as the entrance to the foxhole is guarded by thorns. You can pull the container out by string that is attached to the nearby "tree".
Please reassemble everything neatly afterwards and put some gras over the container.
