Geocache Description:

Up n' Downer Here we have a cache placed on a country footpath that forms a circular route from either of the recommended parking places, the total walking time is approximately an hour, with the length of the route at 2 ¾ miles. The terrain varies between an easy level track to farmland, with styles, gates & some muddy patches. Regretfully not suitable for the disabled. Obviously extra time will be required for looking & logging, but do not hurry because the scenery is there to be enjoyed..... a peaceful place, with an abundance of wildlife to discover. This is the highest point of the stroll with the views south to Dartmoor & glimpses of the attractive market town of Hatherleigh, to the east, a fantastic panorama on a clear day. Hatherleigh has a busy market every Tuesday morning & a popular Car Boot sale on Sunday afternoons. Always the town is worth exploring for it's quaint streets, thatched cottages, giving it an “olde worlde” charm. Please remember to observe the countryside code & keep to the designated footpath. Unfortunately, due to the nature of the terrain the section west of here is only suitable for those able to negotiate stiles. Wellies are strongly recommended after any wet weather if you are to continue walking in an anticlockwise direction. If you have approached from the west you already know what we mean! There is NO suitable parking nearby so be prepared to walk from the places suggested. Nearest Parking: N50 49.195 W004 05.668 also for the circular walk at N50 49.829 W004 06.775
