This cache is placed as part of the New York State Park Saratoga/Capital District Region Geocache Challenge. This cache is a medium size metal box. This is the most reliable location in the park to get service on your cellular phone. Start on the trail between site 16 and 17. Enjoy the climb.
This cache is placed as part of the New York State Park Saratoga/Capital District Region Geocache Challenge. There are 44 geocaches hidden within 11 state parks and state historic sites in the Saratoga/Capital District region, and geocachers finding them all will be eligible to enter their names in a drawing for valuable prizes. If you are interested in taking up the challenge, you can pick up a geocache passport at any of the participating parks and sites, or download the passport at www.nysparks.com.
This cache contains a unique stamp which must stay with the cache. Use this stamp to stamp your passport. This stamp is NOT a trade item.
Park in the day use parking area near the park entrance. Max V. Shaul State Park is a 30 site campground and day use park with a pavilion, a playground, an access trail to the Schoharie Creek and hiking trails, including a peaceful section of the abandon NYS Rt. 30. This cache is a medium size metal box. This is the most reliable location in the park to get service on your cellular phone. Start on the trail between site 16 and 17. Enjoy the climb.
Max V. Shaul State Park is open during the summer months from 7:30am to 8pm and 7:30am to 4pm the rest of the year. There is a $6 entry fee into the park on weekends during the summer months. You can reach the park office at 518-827-4711 for more information. Park personnel are on duty seven days/week during the summer months; off season coverage is not always constant. Please call Mine Kill State Park for hours of coverage during the off season. You can also receive the coordinates for the special cache at Mine Kill State Park (518-827-6111).
