Geocache Description:

Church Micro 2766...Bedford Holy Child & St Joseph

This cache has been placed to bring you to the Catholic Church of the Holy Child and St Joseph, Bedford.

The cache only contains a log - you are a geocacher, you should have a writing implement!

Please note that the final cache is not located on church property.

The Parish in Bedford was started in 1863 by Father John Warmoll. It was through his great efforts and after much hardship and frustration the present church was built and opened in 1874, though the work was not completed until 1913. Sadly, Father Warmoll did not live to see his work come to fruition, as he died in 1885. In 1986 the church underwent extensive renovations and the present day interior design you see reflects the work carried out at the time.

The 'real' reason I have placed a Church Micro here is that PumpkinJnr comes to the church hall most weeks. The church hall is home on Sundays to the Bedford Irish Dancers, a non-competitive display team. The team raise money for a range of local, national and international causes through their displays in the local area.

Given the difficulty of the cache and that some may not consider the Midland Road area of Bedford to be the best place they've ever done a cache, I would recommend doing this cache in daylight hours.

To find the location of the final cache, you will first need to locate a metal (water?) sign/plaque located on one of the external walls of the church. It reads S V AB' C".

The final cache can be found at N 52° 08.B(A+C)A W 000° 28.(C-A)AB

If anybody would like to expand to this series please do, I would just ask that you could let Sadexploration know first so he can keep track of the Church numbers and names to avoid duplication
