Geocache Description:

Lille Loop - A Trip in itself. Pack a picnic lunch. There is private land but the roadway is public. Please stay on the road. Lille is full of history. Take this journey and learn the stories I heard as I was growing up in this area.

There are two Y's in the road. The reason for these are that the roads were narrow and the trucks full of coal had to pass unloaded trucks. As well, any bosses that had to get there fast could not pass the loaded/unloaded trucks. When the road was in "Haul Mode" all FULL trucks were to drive on the LEFT side (the hill side) and the empty trucks on the opposite side. That way, if a truck went over the bank. the costly coal was saved. Thus, the two road or Y System was put in place. The Down and loaded trucks took the top roads and the empty trucks the bottom roads. Any Bosses would use the top roads and drive on the wrong side. (This is how I heard it from the Old Timers in our community)
