Kulturpark Neubrandenburg
Der weiträumige Kulturpark zwischen Innenstadt und Tollensesee ist ein beliebtes Naherholungsgebiet für Neubrandenburger und ihre Gäste. Die natürlichen Gegebenheiten flossen von Anfang an in seine Gestaltung ein: Grünflächen wechseln sich mit Baum- und Strauchgruppen ab. Den Besucher erwarten u. a. Themengärten, Spielplätze, Bootsverleih, Tiergehege, gastronomische Einrichtungen und Begegnungen mit Kunst. Im Mittelalter war hier am nördlichen Seeufer der Werderbruch zu finden, ein mooriges Gelände, das der Stadt von Süden her einen natürlichen Schutz vor Feinden bot. Im 19. Jahrhundert erfolgten erste gezielte Pflanzungen. 1904 legte man einen Promenadenweg zum See an. Die Urbarmachung des Geländes wurde kontinuierlich fortgeführt. Dazu verwendete man auch Trümmerschutt aus dem Zweiten Weltkrieg aus der Innenstadt, die durch Truppen der sowjetischen Artillerie am 29. April 1945 in Brand gesteckt und zu 84 % zerstört wurde. Das Areal zwischen Tollensesee und Stargarder Tor, zwischen Oberbach und Gätenbach wurde von 1969 bis 1975 als Kulturpark mit Bildwerken von Berufs- und Volkskünstlern belebt. Der Kulturpark ist ein Volkspark im Gewand eines Landschaftsgartens und erhielt bereits 1981 den Denkmalstatus. Er bietet vielfältige Freizeitmöglichkeiten und ist Ort für attraktive Veranstaltungen aller Art (Konzerte, Pfingst- und Oktoberfest, Zirkus usw.).
Nun zum Cache: Es handelt sich hier um einen familienfreundlichen Cache, da alle Wege gut zu laufen bzw. zu befahren (mit Fahrrädern, Kinderwagen) sind. Außerdem gibt es für die Kleinen unter euch Spielplätze zum Toben, Tiere zum Bestaunen und vieles mehr. Die Strecke ist insgesamt ca. 2,2 km lang, plant also etwas Zeit ein. Geht die einzelnen Stationen ab, die Koordinaten dienen euch als Orientierung, und errechnet die End-Koordinaten. Der Kulturpark ist zu fast jeder Jahreszeit sehr muggelig, geht also bitte vorsichtig vor, vor allem bei der Bergung und beim Wiederverstecken des Finals.

English version:
The wide-ranging Culture Park between city center and Lake Tollensesee is a popular local recreation area for the people of Neubrandenburg and their guests. The natural conditions were from the beginning integrated in its creation: green areas change with trees and bush areas. The visitor expects for example themed gardens, play grounds, boat hire, vivarium, gastronomical facilities and encounters with art. In the Middle Ages you could find here on the northern lakeside the Werderbruch, a swampy area, which offered a natural protection for the town. In the 19 century happened the first planting. In 1904 one constructed a walking trail to the lake. The cultivation of the area was continued the following years. One used also debris from the Second World War from the city center, which was burned and 84 % destroyed on 29 April 1945 by the Soviet artillery. From 1969 to 1975 the area between Lake Tollensesee, and The Stargard Gate, between Oberbach and Gätenbach was revived as Culture Park with sculptures from professional and folk artists. The culture park is a Volkspark in the garb of a landscape garden and received in 1981 the monumental status. It offers various freetime possibilities and is a place for attractive events of all kinds (concerts, Pentecost and Octoberfest, circus ets.).
Now to the cache: It is a family friendly cache, because all trails are good for walking or cycling. Besides for the kids there are play grounds for raving, animals for marveling and feeding and much more. The trail is ca. 2.2 km long, so take your time. Pass all the mentioned points, the coordinates are for your orientation, and calculate for the final.
