IMPORTANT UPDATE: Due to high seasonal demands for trail use, BC Parks has introduced a Day Pass system for those wishing to hike this trail. Please make sure you have obtained a Day Use Pass for yourself and for each member of your party before arriving at the trailhead. Typically, a pass will be required from the beginning of July thru to the end of September.
If you make this hike on a clear day make sure you pack your camera as well because there is a bit of a scenic view from GZ. I haven't been here in winter, so I hope my cache placement, facilitated by a custom-camoed cache accessory device, will be accessible all year round. There's a log and a pencil, but not much room for anything else!

About the name of this cache: There is a clearly false “urban legend” that purports to explain where the phrase “put on the dog” comes from. This feeble fable suggests that in colonial times, when the family dog died, rich folks would have the creature’s hide tanned and cobbled into a fine pair of shoes suitable to wear to fancy parties. What a crock!
Etymologists agree that the term first appeared in popular use around 1860-70, when US college students used the phrase “put on dog” to describe getting dressed in a stylish or flashy manner.
