Geocache Description:

A Cache along the farm lands of the great central sands region.

My family has been farming this land for as long as i know, but before me... thats another story.  Before we planted our seeds in this fertile ground, it was owned and operated by the Foster family as Foster Farms.  But before that, Lucerne Farms was the owner.  This land was different then.  the fields were smaller, the tree plots were greater, and the irrigation was pipe, laid by hand and strong backs.  Potatoes were dug with a fork and hand placed into bags. grain was swathed and then threshed.  it was a different time, and this one lone Cottonwood tree stood silent witness to it all.  from horse drawn buggies and plows, to classic 63 Chevy pickups with a fresh coat of factory paint, to the gleaming green John Deere Combines that roam the fields in the fall now.  Who knows what this tree will see before the last limb falls.  It will likely see the end of me unless lightning strikes, but until then I will do my part to keep the green paint in the field and drive that rusty old 63 truck though the cottonwood fluff that falls every year.
