Geocache Description:

June 9th is WWFM IX (World Wide Flash Mobs) where hundreds of events have been created for the purpose of...a flash mob!

Date: Saturday, June 9th
Time: 1 PM
Location: German American Friendship Garden, around the small south east "fountain" that is closest to these posted coordinates.

Information on the WWFM IX events can be found here: https://sites.google.com/site/wwfminfo/home

This one is just a little bit easier than "the big one".  Take a few minutes out of the great activities going on around you and show up at 1 PM sharp at the south east "fountain" in the German American Friendship Garden.  And since its at the Friendship garden, a Friendship Circle will spontaneously form, "Make New Friends" will be sung, sign the log book, take a group photo and you are done!

The German American Gardens are located along the south side of Constitution Ave between 15th and 17th in the same "block" as the Washington Monument.  If you have a Rock the Mall event map, the gardens are right behind the food services tents.

We've been asked to add a letterbox to this event to help girls earn their Letterboxing awards. We've got just the thing! There will be an event letterbox here also so bring your stamps!
This location is also a waymark!  Check it out at www.waymarking.com and look up WMBBBO or German-American Friendship Garden .

Flash Mob Schedule for Participants 12:45 - 12:59 Participants: Mill about and mosey. Be nonchalant and casual. Look like a muggle. Don't look like a gathering waiting to happen. Mosey as realistically as you can. This is part of the fun. We will seem to appear out of no-where. 12:58 One of the scouts will begin filming video for the entire event to capture the moments 1:00 Deep Creek Local will walk to ground zero and cross her hands. This is the signal that the event has begun! 1:00 - 1:06 Participants: Join in the friendship circle and sing three verses of Make New Friends. Hold the circle long enough for the unofficial photographers to snap a few of our event! 1:06 Participants: fill out log sheets in the official log book or better yet, bring a sheet of paper with your Geocaching name(s), # of people in your group, troop # and where you are from and any comments you’d like to add. There will be someone with the logbook that can take your entries. 1:14 Participants: Mingle. Share stories. Brag. Trade swag. Take pictures. Sign the log (sheets). CITO the local area! 1:14 One minute warning is called "It is now 1:14!" Participants: Prep to leave, but don't "look" like you are prepping. (You might want to "secretly" organize where you will re-form after dispersal.) 10:15 EXACTLY Participants: Wait for it ... then LEAVE the area (right at 1:15 in a disorderly manner / different directions) We want to clear the video taping area (we will continue to tape for a minute or so) to show us "vacate". The log book will be packed up and sealed 1:17 Videographers will end the taping.
