This cache is on a military facility and will need a proper military ID to access it.
Why Flash Mob? Why KAIA? A Flash Mob is a spontaneous gathering that happens for a brief period of time and ends as quickly as it begins. The Geocaching community now recognizes this gathering as a special event. Cachers around the world will assemble at precisely the same time on June 9, 2012 to commemorate World Wide Flash Mob IX. Here at KAIA, we have cachers from around the world, so for 15 minutes, we'll be able to have an around-the-world cache event!
Caching isn't just about finding tupperware, it's a community, and here at KAIA we have a true world-wide community of cachers! So come meet your fellow international cachers. NOTE: The official "event meal" will be "pot luck", so bring your favorite candies, snacks, etc., from your care packages and pitch in!
The Flash Mob will last for only 15 minutes. Please observe the schedule so that you do not miss out!
- 2130 – Gather at designated coordinates (please do not hang out here beforehand; mill about the area instead)
- 2130-2135 – Official start of the Flash Mob. There will be a signal - and you'll know what it is when it happens! Immediately upon signal, bring your "pot luck meal" contribution, collect a log and deposit it in the cache bucket, , drop off and collect any Travel Bugs as you like and collect your official event meal (GC.com logs without a supporting log sheet will be deleted – no exceptions)
- 2135 – Group photo will be taken (do not delay or you miss out)
- 2137 – Drawings from logs for FTF, STF, and TTF (with prizes)
- 2142 - Phone call to the Podcachers to let them know we had a flash mob in Afghanistan!
- 2144 - Planning and announcement for the next KAIA cachers event
- 2145 – The Flash Mob ends and everyone departs the area. You don't have to leave base, but you can't stay there. The event is over, done, kaputsky. However, you are more than welcome to explore any of the local caches you haven't found yet!
