Dette er fyrste av fire cachar som kjem i Ortnevik./This is the first of four caches to come in Ortnevik.

Om du parkerer like nedanfor stavkyrkja på Brekke, kan du gå skogsvegen opp langs venstre sida av elva til vatnet i Vassdalen. Ved stavkyrkja er det også eit lite kvernhus (døra er datert til 1749) og motorsagskulpturar som er verdt å sjå. Vassdalsvatnet er innanfor Stølsheimen landskapsvernområde og er drikkevatn, så bading er ikkje tillete. Du kan nå Ortnevik frå Stølsheimen langs fleire merka ruter (Brydalen, Fodnestølen, Fitjefjellet og om Furedalsvatnet ved fossen), du kan sjølvsagt også nå Ortnevik med bil eller båt. Når du er komen til cachen, anbefalar me turen vidare rundt vatnet til brua, turen tek ca 40 min. Du kan også gå vidare til vatnet i Furedalen, dette er ein lang dagstur, ca 6 timar t/r. If you park near by the stavechurch on Brekke, you can walk the forresttrack on the left hand side of the river to the Vassdals lake. You'll pass the original working watermill (door carvings dated 1749) and chain saw carvings, up to the Stav Church. From the Vassdals lake you are in the National Park. The lake is also drinkingwater, so no bathing! You can reach Ortnevik from the mountain side of the Stølsheimen National Park by one of many marked routes (Brydalen, Fodnestølen, Fitjefjellet and the Furedalen lake down via the waterfall) You can of course reach Ortnevik by car or boat. When you reach the cache we recommend you walk a little further around the lake to the bridge. This takes about 40 minutes in total. You can also go further, up the waterfall, to the lake in Furedalen. This return day trip takes 6 hours. More information about local trips and photos, you can find on www.ortnevik.net
