Geocache Description:

St. Theresa's Evergreen Cemetery is located on the South Side of Hwy. 59 on Antique Lane, a mile west of the Village of Eagle.  I ran across this cemetery by accident a few years ago when I made a wrong turn.   I was instantly drawn to its incredible appearance.  This is the first St. Theresa's Cemetery before they started using the Oak Knoll Cemetery in Eagle when there was no more room to expand.  This is an inactive cemetery.   It was established around 1844.  The last burial was in 1941.

If you have not visited the Stute Family Springs and Homestead area just up the road from here, you should .  Several of the Stute family members are buried here.  Take some time to walk around and read some of the headstones.  There sure is a lot of history.

I am not sure why, but there is one grave all by itself at the west end of the cemetery.  The headstone reads John Arenz, 1869-1898. According to the Waukesha County Genealogy Website, there are no known cemetery records and no map available. The older church records are in Latin and German.

Please only come here during daylight hours.  Parking available along Antique Lane.  The cache is not hidden on or near any of the graves.   Please be respectful of anyone that is visiting loved ones and come back another time if you have to.  Please also replace the container exactly as you found it so it is not visible to anyone passing by.   You will need to BYOP.   There is a $1 for the FTF.
CONGRATS TO JERRY'S DAD FOR FTF!!
