Are you creative? Do you need a little help designing a cache container that gets those coveted favorite points? The ladies of Baby Tupper are hosting a create-a-cache and tie dye event. We love creative caches and the world needs more of them. We also love tie dye, so why not combine the two?
Caches
Come to our house armed with whatever supplies you have. We will have electricity so bring on the power tools. Do you have spray paint, glue, duct tape, pvc pipe, fake flora and fauna, paint, old toys, whatnots just waiting to become caches? Bring them on down. We will all do our best to make cache-worthy containers out of them. Please post what you will be bringing in your attend log. Thanks to our on-line shopping habits we have lock n locks, bisons, small plastic bags, and who knows what else. We will be selling these for a small fee to cover our costs.
Tie Dye
Tie dying has come a long way since the 70's. We will be using dyes that are color-fast and so easy to use. After a soak in a soda-ash solution, you will tie the shirt and then squirt on the dye. It will need to sit in a Ziploc bag for 24 hours or so and then you can rinse it out and wash it as usual. If you would like to participate you will want to wear old, dark clothes. We will sell shirts for a nominal fee (again, just to cover our costs.) The shirt + tie dye price will be $6. If you would like to bring your own shirt the price for tie dye will be $3 (the dye and chemicals are the expensive part.) Please post what size shirt you would like so we know how many to buy.
Food
Potluck. We have a small gas grill. Feel free to use it. We will supply the paper products, you supply the food and drinks. Please post what you will be bringing. (Smiley cacher will bring her famous vegan chocolate chip cookies so bring insulin if needed.)
Event
We will have the event even if it rains, so come prepared for the weather. We will have an area to swap/discover travel bugs. (Please remember to log them in a timely manner.)
Swag
Bring swag to swap and fill up your cache container. We'll throw it all in a bin and let you pick and choose what you want or need.
