This cache is on an island just over 1km from the nearest land. It will take a boat to get there. The sea between the mainland and island is over 100 feet deep, so you can't wade out. The cache is located on the main sandy beach and offers some of the most stunning views in the area. It contains only a logbook.
Tourist boats, or 'booze cruises' leave Altinkum daily to do the '5 Islands' tour. Only one stop is an actual Island the other 4 stops are in various bays on the mainland. Paradise island is normally the first stop of the day, where the boat anchors in shallow water just off the Islands main beach. A short swim will take you ashore and the cache could be found in plenty of time to swim back to the boat.
Didim Marina has recently opened, which is a huge modern complex the equal of any in the Mediterranean. If you are lucky enough to keep a boat there or are stopping over while crusing the area you can reach the cache in a few minutes from here.
Paradise Island has been called many different names before tourists started to come to Altinkum. On maps it is called PANAYIR Ada (pronounced nearly same as "Pan Higher ") means Island of Fair. It is also called Ziraat ada by locals. "Ziraat" means "agriculture" in Turkish. Its because that island has been used as a base to produce hybrid olive trees in late 1960's. Theres a building on the north east of the Paradise Island where agriculture engineers and students have stayed when working with the olive sapplings. The project of Ministry of Agriculture have finished and those buildings left there as they are today.
The building with two storeys was for the engineers and another building was for the staff working for them... The Paradise Island has also been known as Esek Adasi (means "Donkey's Island" in Turkish. There are no donkeys on the island now from those agriculture projects but plenty of rabbits can be seen) .
