Don't Jump From Here Traditional Cache

This cache is temporarily unavailable.

Knagur Green: Greetings

This cache appears to be in need of owner intervention. I'm temporarily disabling it, to give the owner an opportunity to check on the cache, and take whatever action is necessary.

You are responsible for occasional visits to your cache to ensure it is in proper working order, especially when someone reports a problem with the cache (missing, damaged, wet, etc.) or posts a Needs Maintenance log. Temporarily disable your cache to let others know not to search for it until you have addressed the problem.

Please enable your cache by selecting 'enable' on the right hand side of the listing , once the cache has been replaced/repaired, or checked that it is still in situ.

The Geocache Maintenance guideline explains a CO's responsibility towards checking and maintaining the cache when problems are reported.

Caches that have been archived for lack of maintenance will not be unarchived. This is explained in the Help Center

If you no longer wish to maintain the cache then the listing should be archived.

Please respond to this situation in a timely manner (i.e., within 30 days) to prevent the cache from being archived for non-responsiveness. If you plan on repairing this cache, but cannot get to it within 30 days, please log a note to the cache page (not email) to let the community know

Thank you for understanding

Geocache Description:

While here in North Cyprus we recommend that you have a drive along the mountain road from Buffavento to Esentepe, you will be able to pick up some caches on the way.

You are looking for a green clip plastic box, containing a log book, pencil and pen and some small swaps.

Buffavento Castle is located in Northern Cyprus, it means in italian "Defier of the Winds".  The winds can reach quite high speeds in it's exposed location at 950 meters above sea level.  It stands in the middle of the Kyrenia range castles, with St Hilarion Castle to the west and Kantara Castle to the east, all of which were built as a defense against Arab raids.  As both of the other castles are visible from Buffavento, it was used to pass signals between them  It is also controlled an important pass through the mountains.  It was used as a prision in the 14th century.  It is not regular in the shape as it makes use of the mountain itself for it's defense.  During the Venetian control of the island, Buffavento fell into disuse as the coastal castles of Cyprus, such as Kyrenia and Famagusta, were seen as more important.

Small note on cache maintenance: Simboli2 lives locally, has offered to assist. Thanks!
