Cette cache va vous faire découvrir un peu d'histoire ainsi que les sources d'eau minérale de Saint-Alban-les-Eaux.
Thanks to this cache, you will learn a bit of history, and you will discover the mineral water sources of Saint-Alban-les-Eaux.

Les eaux thermales de Saint-Alban-les-Eaux sont reconnues depuis 1878. Toutefois, leur exploitation à des fins thermales remonte à des temps beaucoup plus reculés. A la fin du XIXème siècle, les curistes sont nombreux, grâce à l'installation du "tacot" reliant Roanne à Saint-Alban, et la renommée du village vient presque concurrencer celle de Vichy (rien de comparable bien sûr). Les hôtels que vous pourrez voir dans la rue principale du village et en descendant dans le parc thermal, ont pour la plupart été bâti à cette période. Les eaux de Saint-Alban sont encore à notre époque commercialisées, l'usine d'embouteillage se trouvant dans le bas du village.
EN : The thermal waters of Saint-Alban-les-Eaux were officially reckoned in 1878. However, they had been exploited long before this date. During the nineteenth century, the thermal industry boomed in Saint-Alban, thanks to the train joining Roanne and Saint-Alban-les-Eaux. It tried tocompete with the close thermal city of Vichy, giant of the hydrotherapy industry. Some of the buildings you can see in Saint-Alban-les-Eaux's main street used to be hotels to host the clients. Saint-Alban-les-Eaux's mineral water is still being sold in french supermarkets, the bottling plant is located down the river "La Montouse"
