Each section of the Trent-Severn Waterway has its own distinct flavour. The southern section of the Waterway is always inviting, its rolling farmland, limestone banks and serene marshes creating a sense of peace. Wetlands such as the Murray marsh and the Nappan Island marshes just above Healey Falls provide valuable habitat for waterfowl, fish and aquatic wildlife, many of which are classified as Species at Risk. Exploring this area by paddle is a great way to enjoy the idyllic scenery and to catch a glimpse of rare wildlife.
