Faulkey Gully 10 - Thorns? What Thorns? Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

Reviewer Revan: Cache Owner (CO) has not responded, so I am regretfully archiving this cache to keep it from continually showing up in search lists, and to prevent it from blocking new cache placements. If you wish to repair/replace this cache sometime in the future (not to exceed 10 days from the date of this entry), just contact me (by e-mail), and assuming it still meets the current Guidelines, I will consider unarchiving this cache.

Please be advised this is not a guarantee that this geocache will be unarchived. Many factors will go into my decision. The most important of which is how you responded to geocachers who tried to communicate with you regarding the problem(s) with this geocache hide and how you communicated with me, the Reviewer Revan.

Geocache Description:

This cache is part of a series along the Faulkey Gully. I hope your enjoy this one.

FAULKEY GULLY. Faulkey Gully rises in the Willow Flats area of northwest Harris County (at 30°01' N, 95°39' W) and runs southeast for six miles to its mouth on Cypress Creek, near the intersection of Grant and Jones roads (at 29°59' N, 95°35' W). The stream traverses an area where the coastal prairie begins to yield to woodlands, primarily pine and oak. Area soils are primarily sandy and clay loams. In the post-Civil War years, black freedmen settled along Faulkey Gully in an area known locally as "the Bottoms." The community's cemetery remained 100 years later as the only reminder of the early settlement in an area of rapidly expanding urban development.
