Eine besonders malerische Ortschaft, 2 km von Klausen gelegen, ist Gufidaun. Charakteristisch für das 500-Seelen-Dorf sind die vielen Hügelkuppen, die ihm den Beinamen “das Dorf auf den 7 Hügeln” eingeheimst hat. Gufidaun umfasst die Örtlichkeiten Dorf, Unterviertel, Berg, Froy und Putzen und liegt auf 734 m, etwas über dem Talboden des Eisacktales und Villnöss.
Das einstige “Cubidunes” blickt auf eine etwa 1000-jährige Siedlungsgeschichte zurück, im Mittelalter wurden hier zwei herrschaftliche Ansitze - Koburg und Schloss Summersberg - errichtet, die heute beide in Privatbesitz sind. Die Kirche von Gufidaun ist dem Heiligen Martin geweiht, ihr jetziges Erscheinungsbild stammt aus dem 15. Jahrhundert. Im Dorfmuseum von Gufidaun, untergebracht im Pflegerhaus, können Sie in das dörfliche Leben unserer Vorfahren eintauchen.
Die Ortschaft Gufidaun stellt als solches schon ein beliebtes Fotomotiv dar: der spitze Kirchturm, die grauen Burgen, der dichtgedrängte Ortskern und im Hintergrund die Geislerspitzen bringen Abwechslung ins Bild - und auch in Ihren Urlaub. Ein Ausflug ins hintere Villnösstal, eine Wanderung im Naturpark Puez-Geisler und ein Besuch des Künstlerstädtchens Klausen sind ein Muss bei Ihrem Aufenthalt in Gufidaun.
Unser Tipp: Im einstigen Geschichtsschreiberhaus Turmwirt befindet sich ein alteingesessenes Wirtshaus, in dem Fresken aus dem Jahre 1907 von Hugo Atzwanger zu bewundern sind. Bei einem Gläschen Eisacktaler Wein können Sie diese begutachten und die Atmosphäre genießen.

Un paese particolarmente suggestivo, a soli 2 km da Chiusa, è Gudon, una delle località più tipiche di questa zona. Gudon deve il suo soprannome di “paese sui sette colli” alle colline sulle quali si erge. Gudon conta all’incirca 500 abitanti e comprende le località di Paese, Unterviertel, Berg, Froy e Putzen e si trova a 734 m s.l.m sopra la Valle Isarco e la Val di Funes.
Originariamente chiamato “Cubidunes”, Gudon vanta una storia millenaria. Nel Medioevo furono costruiti manieri storici come il Castello Summersberg e le residenze di Koburg e Hohenhaus. La chiesa parrocchiale è consacrata a S. Martino e risale al Quattrocento. Nel Museo per oggetti di uso comune del mondo e folclore contadino potrete immergervi nella vita quotidiana degli antenati della zona.
Il campanile appuntito della chiesa parrocchiale, i manieri storici, il caratteristico centro storico e le vette del Gruppo delle Odle sullo sfondo, questa è la classica immagine del paese, ideale per una foto che vi farà ricordare le vostre vacanze per sempre. Una gita in Val di Funes, un’escursione nel parco naturale Puez Odle ed una visita della cittadina degli artisti di Chiusa non possono mancare durante una vacanza a Gudon.

The picturesque village of Gudon is located above the valley floor and characterised by a charming general view.
A particularly charming village, only 2 km from Chiusa, is Gudon. What is characteristic for this village boasting 500 inhabitants are the hills, that raked the name “the village on the 7 hills” to the village. Gudon comprises the localities Dorf, Unterviertel, Berg, Froy and Putzen and is located at 734 m asl, slightly above the valley floors of the Valle Isarco and Val di Funes.
Once called “Cubidunes”, Gudon harkens back on a settlement history of more than 1,000 year. In Medieval times, two mansions were built in this place, that is to say Castel Coburg and Summersberg, which today are both in private hands. The church of Gudon is dedicated to S. Martino and dates back to the 15th century. In the local museum of Gudon, accommodated in the Pflegerhaus, you can make a journey back in time, to our grandparents’ rural lives.
The village of Gudon, as an ensemble, represents a popular photo motif: the pointed church steeple, the grey mansions, the densely packed centre and in the background the Odle mountain group make this shot a succeeded one, and so will also be your holidays. A visit to the head of the Funes valley, a hike to the Puez Odle nature park and a trip to the neat city of Chiusa are also a must-do in your holidays at Gudon.
Our tip: in the former histographer’s building called Turmwirt, there is a long-established tavern, boasting frescoes of 1907 realised by Hugo Atzwanger. Have a glass of local wine, admire the historic pieces of art and immerse into the atmosphere.
