Geocache Description:

A traditional cache along the picturesque Stroud Water Navigation.

This is a series of initially seven caches placed along the Stroud Water Navigation. The Stroud Water Navigation is the first part of the Canal link between the Severn and the Thames. It originally brought boats from the Severn to Stroud. Currently the canals are undergoing restoration and are becoming a very pleasent recreation route. These caches have been placed with the kind permission of the Cotswold Canals Trust. I have opted not to number the caches for the good reason that I may add more in between as restoration takes place and also there are existing caches between some of mine.

Newtown Lock
The hamlet of Newtown was built by the canal company during the construction of the canal. Although a small hamlet several of these buildings were once public house. The lock itself was the first structure to be renovated on the whole canal.

Congratulations ClanKenn on FTF despite the weather
