Geocache Description:

You are looking for a small lock and lock in the woods along side Jackson Creek. We arrived to hide the cache via the creek, but it is also accessible by bushwhacking through the woods from the Jackson Creek trail. As my son said while we were hiding it; this may be easier to find in the winter, but creek stomping is much more fun on a hot, summer day. Either way, the park and creek are lovely.

Parking is available at Sherwood Oaks Park. See the related web page link for directions.

When my son, Hidden Treasure, was just a toddler one of my closest friends turned us on to “creek stomping.” She and I have taken kids creek stomping in many counties: Greene, Owen, Brown, and Monroe. About five years ago, I was bemoaning the fact that there was no “clean” creek to stomp in Bloomington and discovered Jackson Creek. My son and I have stomped the creek from Sherwood Oaks Park up to Child’s elementary school and down south out to what seemed to us to be no man’s land. We’ve collected rocks, fossils, told stories, and seen deer. Once, we even assembled a make-believe dinosaur skeleton from interesting rocks. It’s a little bit of forest heaven in Bloomington. Please wear creek stomping shoes when placing those tootsies in the water.

CONGRATULATIONS TO MICKEY4JES FOR FIRST TO FIND!!!!!
