Buchanan's Ark
A landmark we have found interesting since moving into the area.
NOTE: The Ark has gone now (it is near Lorn now, in someone's backyard) but we have left the cache and its story the same.
GZ overlooks the many turf farms including the one where the ark is located - maybe the owners are worried that the Hunter River will flood this area and they are able to escape?

I was involved in the construction of this road a few years ago and can tell you stories about every farmer along the road - they are all characters. For those interested the catarmaran was craned out of the hunter river near the new bridge whilst the bridge was still under construction. It was transported to its final resting place on the back of a semi low bed trailer. It doesn't look as though any work has been done to it for the past three years. Another tidbit history fact, every time the hunter river floods it deposits metres of silt over the plain. The old Flat Rd was found 1.8m below where this cache is located. The council just built a new road over the silt after the last flood. Also, there are old houses up the road that used to be 6 foot of the ground now there is one step to enter the house. Hate to see what would happen to these houses in the next big one.
