Geocache Description:

Welcome to CCARF12!

The Calgary Cache And Release events are packed with "geocaching goodness". A series of events that are focused on creating and finding great new caches and meeting great old (and new) friends along the way.

There are three main goals for the CCAR:

1. Make sure everyone has a great time! Whether you like hiding wonderful caches, finding them, or meeting other geocachers, there’s something fun for everyone.

2. Encourage geocachers like you to hide outstanding caches. We want more high-quality caches around Calgary for everyone to enjoy. Let’s show what we can accomplish when we unleash our creativity!

3. Provide an opportunity for geocachers to go on a 24-hour finding frenzy. If you prefer to spend only 24 minutes seeking caches, then that’s okay too. Whatever works for you! See Goal #1, above.

Location

Just like the Summer CCAR, this CCAR wrap-up event is held at the Killarney Community center.

Killarney Glengarry Community Association
28 Ave & 28 St SW

Start Time of the Wrap-Up event

Contrary to previous years, we have decided to move the start time for the wrap-up event from noon to 2pm. The reason for this is the cost of the food and the rooms. We get $1000 in sponsorship which was depleted by the time we paid for the room rental of the 7 educational events and the 2 wrap-ups. The additional costs such as doughnuts at the educational events and food at the wrap-up needs to be paid from contributions at the door. Last time we prepared the food ourselves which was not appreciated by everybody. This time we tried to get catering in, but the cost for that starts at $1000 for a group of our size. Since we as organizers have to pay this amount up front, it's a risk we feel we can not take.

So instead we will start the wrap-up event at 2pm and have an Ice Cream Social. The event will be the usual handing out of prizes to the winners, the mishap stories and just getting together, just a little later.
