Lembro que a eventual reactivação desta cache passará pelo mesmo processo de análise como se fosse uma nova cache, com todas as implicações que as guidelines actuais indicam.

Ribeira de S. Guilherme

A ribeira de S. Guilherme aflui no rio Zêzere em Dornes. Aqui a construção da Barragem do Castelo de Bode fez submergir grande parte dos terrenos agrícolas criando uma pequena península, cenário magnífico, emoldurado pelo extenso lago artificial que constitui a albufeira.
Contudo a subida das águas foi um processo doloroso para os habitantes da freguesia, uma comunidade fortemente agrícola. Os melhores terrenos, os lameiros, abundantemente irrigados pelas tradicionais rodas, fiaram submersos, bem como os vários casais e boa parte das povoações. Na época não havia, no concelho de Ferreira, qualquer unidade de moagem industrial, os cereais eram moídos nos moinhos e azenhas do Zêzere ou de ribeiras afluentes. De repente, a maioria destas pequenas unidades moageiras ficou submersa e o povo com o “pão” por moer.
Na ribeira de S. Guilherme, situa-se o Lagar de São Guilherme que outrora usava as águas da ribeira para poder trabalhar, após obras de reconstrução é, hoje, um local para actividades culturais. Além de que o local envolvente poder ser usado para o desfruto de bons momentos de convivência com a Natureza.

A água é a condição essencial da vida em todo o ser vegetal, animal ou humano. Sem ela não poderíamos conceber como são a atmosfera, o clima, a vegetação, a cultura ou a agricultura.
A água no ser humano representa cerca de 70% do seu peso. Uma pessoa de 65 Kg, por exemplo, tem 45 kg de água no seu corpo.
A água forma a maior parte do volume de uma célula. O transporte de sais minerais e de outras substâncias, para dentro ou para fora da célula, é feito por soluções aquosas. Mesmo a regulação da temperatura do corpo depende da água – é pelo suor que “expulsamos “ parte do calor interno.

Stream of S. Guilherme

The stream of S. Guilherme flows into the river Zêzere in Dornes. Here the construction of the dam of Castelo de Bode submerged a large part of agricultural land by creating a small peninsula, a magnificent setting framed by extensive artificial lake that forms the reservoir.
However the rising water was a painful process for the inhabitants of the county, a strongly agricultural community. The best land, marshes, abundantly irrigated by traditional wheels spun submerged, as well as several houses and many of the villages. At the time there wasn’t, in the county of Ferreira, any unit of industrial milling, the grains were crushed in mills and water mills in Zêzere streams or tributaries. Suddenly, most of these small units mills flooded and people with "bread" for grinding.
By the stream of S. Guilherme it is located the mill of S. Guilherme which once used the waters of the river in order to work, after reconstruction work is now a place for cultural activities. Besides, the local environment can be used for enjoying good moments with nature.
