Wilderness Trail CITO Cache In Trash Out® Event

This cache has been archived.

The Seanachai: Greetings from Geocaching.com,

As part of my duties, I am archiving this cache as it has been over 30 days since the event occurred. From the Geocaching.com listing guidelines regarding event caches:

"After the event has passed, the event cache should be archived by the organizer within four weeks."

Thank you for taking the time to create and host this event, but it is time for the listing to be archived.

Geocache Description:

The Murfreesboro Parks system has been very supportive of our hobby and recently Rachel Singer and her staff at the Wilderness Station has worked to help promote our hobby to new ones and embraced Geocachers using the wonderful trail system they have. So to thank them for their generosity we are organizing a trail maintenance CITO.

On August 18 at 8am we will gather at the Wilderness Station and head out from there after getting our assignments. Racheal will be supplying water and snacks as well as any supplies needed. We need to bring gloves and any tools you may have to help with outdoor maintenance.

We will be helping with repaint trail blazes, trimming over growth, hauling out trash, etc. As we get a handle on how many will be there we may get other projects.

A note on the D\T Rating. I rated it D3 because the project will encompass the whole trail system (5-6 miles) and a T5 because of the hike as well as needing tools. However do not let this keep you from coming out. We will make sure everybody has a part. Do as little or as much as you are capable of handling.

We will be building some natural fences to protect areas that people are using that they shouldn't. We will need chainsaws, wire cutters, pliers, linesmans pliers, etc. Also need chainsaws for some trees accross the trails. If anybody has repelling gear there is a 15 foot deep sink hole we want to clean out.
