This cache will bring you to a site that is both historical and special to all the residents of Virgilina, VA. REMEMBER: the school is now a private residence, the playground is still open to the public. DO NOT walk on the school campus.
Virgilina was once a booming town. At the turn of the 20th Century it could have been described as a "wild west" type town. People flocked to a gold rush and many of the mines are still here, though closed many years ago. Businesses used to thrive, but now most don't even take the time to stop in our town. I hope you will. This cache is located on the playground of the old Virgilina Elementary School that closed several years ago. Kids still can be seen playing on this very old school playground (you know the kind that has equipment they no longer make fearing lawsuits). Take the time to walk or drive around Virglina. Stop by the Virgilina Grocery Store. This cache only contains a log.
