Just another tuptim puzzle based on a classic board game from his childhood. This is just like a standard game of Battleship with a few variations thrown in to make it interesting/challenging. If you are not familiar with the game Battleship then I suggest that you learn the basic rules here.
- In this game of Battleship there is only one player (you!). The goal is to recreate the game by marking the guesses on the game board provided.
- You will see that there are 2 grids provided. The first grid (Grid 1) will stay fixed and not move. The second grid (Grid 2) will rotate clockwise 90 degrees after every guess. After rotated, it will be placed back onto Grid 1 and the next guess will be marked and then rotated, and so on. This will go on until all 41 guesses have been marked on the board. Note: The word 'top' must be at the top for the first guess.
- Guesses in black mean that it was a 'miss'. Guesses in red mean that it was a 'hit' and a ship occupies that tile.
- After you have marked all the tiles with either hits or misses, you must place the 5 ships onto the game grid. The 5 ships are as follows; Aircraft Carrier (occupies 5 tiles), Battleship (occupies 4 tiles), Cruiser (occupies 3 tiles), Submarine (occupies 3 tiles), Destroyer (occupies 2 tiles). Remember that ships cannot occupy tiles that have a 'miss' or another ship. There is only 1 possible scenario where all ships fit.
- Once that has been completed, you can proceed to count the hits/misses/ships/vacant tiles as specified to find the coordinates. When counting, make sure that the word 'top' is indeed at the top.

A = The number of tiles occupied by either ships or misses in row H.
B = The number of tiles occupied by ships in row 7.
C = The number of tiles occupied by either ships or misses in row C.
D = The number of tiles occupied by misses in row 6.
E = The number of tiles occupied by ships in row G.
F = The number of tiles occupied by ships in row 4.
G = The number of tiles occupied by misses in row 8.
H = The number of vacant tiles in row F.
