Geocache Description:

Pvt. Henry S. Wells was born in 1842.

He was awarded, posthumously, the Medal of Honor, for his actions during the Civil War.  This was for heroism on Sept. 29, 1864 while serving with Company C, 148th New York Infantry, in action at Chapin's Farm, VA.

Along with two comrades, Pvt. Wells took position in advance of the skirmish line, within a short distance of the enemy's gunners and drove them from their guns.

He died Oct. 27, 1864 in Fair Oaks, VA while a POW.

His burial place is unknown, but this is the site of the family plot.

There is room to pull off and park.  Please be respectful of the area.

Congratulations zekechili for FTF!
