Geocache Description:

Island Treasures is a great cache for kids with an Island corridor, rock lookouts and a beach to explore. The cache has lots or space for tradeables - come on you older cachers, bring small toys for caching kids to enjoy. Use a little caution as access can be slippery and keep a eye out for pirates who'll want to muggle the treasures. There are a few initial treasures waiting to be found. first to find get a bigger 'rep'.
Avoid high tides - access is difficult when tide is very high

This is a private island with public access through a small park and along a public path that encircles the island. Please respect the private properties and stick closely to the path and to the public land that runs all around the island on the water side of the path. The cache is beside a small beach. The beach and the cache can be reached using a small stairway that leads off the path.  Access by kids should be supervised, there are rocks, at times slippery, to clamber over. You can enjoy great views of Tsehum Harbour from the island, you'll very likely be able to spot Herons, Geese (warning - the island abounds in geese poop), eagles and various species of ducks, You'll see numerous boats, large and small, moored in the harbour and at the assorted marinas. Look across to the rock islets on the opposite shore and you're sure to spot harbour seals taking a nap. There are two or three otters that frequent the shore of the island so keep a good lookout, you may be lucky and see these cute little animals. From the rocky point near the Gazebo, you can see kelp, sea anemone, small fish and shells when the water is clear.

There a numerous benches and a gazebo available  along the trail and there are picnic tables, swings and a kids playground in the small park on resthaven drive that provides access to the path. Parking is readily available on the street and beside the nearby tennis court.
