The new Mississippi River trail currently runs From Jefferson Barracks Park to the Northwest corner of the River City Casino property. Eventually this trail will join the River Des Peres Greenway trail. This trail offers some wonderful views of the Mississippi River and the barge traffic it carries.
The parking coordinates are located in Jefferson Barracks park. Closer parking parking is available, but the view from the trail is worth a bit of a walk.
The cache area appears to be the only place designed to allow access to the riverfront. I've walked the trail a few times and it seems there is always someone near this location drowning a few worms.
You are looking for a bison tube which contains only a log....BYOP !
