Geocache Description:

A quick two stage multi cache (The final stage is within walking Distance).

Stage 1 - is at the coordinates where there is a monument to a United States President who vacationed in the area on his yacht, prior to the Historic Quebec Conference during WWII.

A sea plane bringing war dispatches to the President crashed and sank in nearby McGegor Bay. The plane was eventually raised from the depths and the reminants of the plane are on display at the Howland Centennial Museum.

You will need information from the monument to find the final location.

The final coordinates are:

N AA° 04.0BB W 081° AA.40C

AA = The last two numbers on the year the monument was erected (bottom of sign).

BB = The ## th President of United States (First line under Title of Monument) PLUS 62.

C = The last day of the visit (August # th) plus 1.

Stage 2 - Find the small film canister with the log. Have a seat and enjoy the ambiance while you record your find.

NOTE: This cache is part of the new "Road To Manitoulin" Series of caches, placed to make the trip from Highway #17 to Manitoulin fun for geocachers.
