Geocache Description:

Mount Stirling is the northernmost 'officially' named peak in the Spring Mountains.  It stands at 8,219 feet.  There are several petroglyphs on the rocks in the area, as well as great views of the Mt Charleston area, Telescope Peak in Death Valley & even the Sierras, if it is a clear day! If you're lucky, you may even see some wild horses!

There is not an official trail to Mount Stirling.  To get there, it's a matter of route finding, both to drive to the area, and to make it up to the peak.  To shorten your hike, I recommend a high clearance vehicle.  I started just below Gold Spring & followed the steep ridge up to the main ridgeline, but this peak can be attempted any way you so choose!

The cache itself is a small tin, hidden at the base of a tree, under a rock.  Please re-hide well.

Congrats to Ridgeard for FTF!!!
