PLEASE BE AWARE THAT THERE ARE SOMETIMES CATTLE IN THE FIELDS BETWEEN CACHES 6-8 AND THE BONUS. This trail of caches wanders around Winthorpe, a pretty little village on the outskirts of Newark.
The coordinates provided are for the centre of the village and it is easy to find parking along the streets.
There are eight caches plus a bonus cache in this chain and in order to find the bonus, you need to collect the letters and numbers off the top of the logs in caches 1-8.
Once you have all of the numbers, you need to put them in to the following formula:
N53 0S TUV W000 4W XYZ
This route is not a circular walk but will take you approximately four miles. Parts can get muddy at times. I have cycled the track before but if this is your preferred option please be aware that you will have to lift your bike over a couple of stiles. It is a child friendly route but is not suitable for buggies or wheel chairs.
Watch out for the fishing muggles and the big four legged ones. They are very inquisitive and may scare small children (and Searcher1341) if they are on the footpath.
When I was setting this one, I noticed there was a small fury guardian hiding at GZ too. Don’t give it a fright.
