The cache is not at the listed coordinates. This cache can only be found by making note of the letters contained throughout The Cottagers Dale Woods section of The Brocklesby Hunt.
To find this cache you will need to work out...
Make sure you bring some type of abacus, calculator, spare hands with fingers type thing. Darleygirl did all the maths. She's the nasty one.
Welcome one and all to The Brocklesby Hunt.
-
Caches can only be logged when the estate is open to the public (1st April-31st August). The series will be disabled out of season and the caches stored at Frett towers until caching season next falls.
-
There is to be no caching after dark. No torchlight caching.
-
The caches have been placed with the environment in mind. There is no need to damage anything to retrieve the caches. Most caches are close to the path. There are comprehensive clues if required.
-
The route follows the posts with yellow markers on them, this is the public route. Please adhere to all signposts throughout the estate.
If you are planning to complete the series in one session then please park at the parking waypoint for BH#1 to begin your wander. The walk can be done in three sections too and there are a couple of parking spots available at the start of each forest. Please do not block the entrances.
Due to dense tree cover our coords varied slightly each time we visited. I also used two different GPS' when hiding and took at least 4 sets of coords for each cache. To ensure minimum damage to the forest our hints are rather comprehensive to compensate for varying coords. Please use them if you need to.
Please bring tweezers, a pen and some paper to note down the clues to enable you to find each of the bonuses. Mausoleum Woods contains a bonus. Cottagers Dale contains a bonus. Hendale/Halliday Hill/Brompton Dale woods have one bonus between them.
The Brocklesby Hunt can be completed in one session or can be split into smaller sections if you wish. Each leg will have its own bonus cache. The bonus cache can be found by completing the relevant section and taking note of the letters which appear on the logbook in SOME of the caches.
Due to the nature of our permissions there are parts of the walk which are linear, please take this into account when planning your visit here.
