This Cache is situated near it's namesake in the Partridge Run Wildlife Management Area (WMA) which is located in southern Albany County. Fawn Lake is the largest body of water within the 4600 acre WMA. Partridge Run is also laced with trails for hikers, bikers, x-c skiers and snowmobilers to enjoy.
The Cache, a small (semi-camoed) Lock & Lock container, is located just off a section of The Long Path that leads out of the Fawn Lake parking area. You will find that it is just a brief walk along the moderately ascending trail to the general location of the hide.
A Winter Weather Note: Fawn Lake Road which takes you to the parking area currently has no road sign and it is a seasonal road. The coords for it are N42 34.248 / W74 09.875. In winter, the hike to the cache will be just about one mile along this fairly flat road. Skis, snowshoes and snowmobiles are all permitted. The Cache was placed with permission from New York State DEC and was established in accordance with their regulatory policies and guidelines.
A CAUTIONARY NOTE: Partridge Run is open to Hunters for all game hunting seasons.
The small container holds:
* A FTF Geo-coin.
* A couple of swag items (3CPO ballpoint pen and a compass zipper pull).
* Log book and pencil -Might want to BYOP just in case.
*A TB
Enjoy the lake & have fun with the search.
