Bravo 2/149 GSAB Chinook Helicopter Company visited Camp McGregor, NM. In addition to a plethera of CH-47D Helicopters we brought along an assortment of cachers to New Mexico. The group varied in caching experience. A few of the group had actually never cached at all. By the time we left though almost everyone was a cacher. We enjoyed the local area so much we decided we should leave a legacy behind. The "Heavy Assault Cache" was born. Along our journeys we visited the Hueco Tanks, El Paso urban caching, Chapperel Desert caching and whatever we could fit into our limited free time. A trip to Ft Bliss to resupply always turned into a "cache run". We would set out at dawn sometimes to explore the desert countryside and fulfill the hunger of the hunt. A night time walmart run might turn into a midnight hill climb where hobos were suspected to be. Without these experiences I am sure our visit would not have been so pleasent. We thank the cachers of New Mexico and Texas for the wonderfull time spent here.
