Many years ago some developer had plans to put a new housing development up here on the ridge. Governeurs Lane was intended to loop between two points off of Skye Island Rd but only the two ends were completed, with a few houses on each end. The connecting section was excavated but never developed. It now sets empty, a dream that never was fulfilled. Maybe someday, in a not so distant future, the dream and the street will be completed. Until then, you can explore the area...and have a cache to look for.
The best access is at the end of the second Governeurs Lane off of Skye Island, the same as recommended for the Nanticoke Ridge series.
