Geocache Description:

Last but definitely not least of this HANDAN series, placed near the bridge at the bottom of Gibraltar Lane, one of my favourite haunts in my youth, and now a favourite for walks for Han&Dan.
To replace the long standing cache, a new nano has been placed, not where the original was. This is NOT underneath the bridge!

Mill to Mill – Kingston to Gibraltar A new series of caches to extend our HANDAN series of caches which runs from Hooley Hill to Jet Amber on the Denton/Hyde border. These caches run from the other side of Manchester Road from Jet Amber, so if you are continuing from there please be careful as the road is very busy. The caches start at Kingston and continue (eventually) to Gibraltar Lane, both the sites of Cotton Mills in days of yore. These caches are made to complement the area in which they are placed. Once you find one you’ll get the idea. We have endeavoured to make these caches slightly harder than our others hopefully to give you a bit of a challenge. If starting from Manchester Road, parking is available on Watson Street, which has seen better days. The path from Watson Street to Gibraltar Lane in Haughton Green is fairly well maintained, but can get muddy in places. There are steps in a few places, which whilst not overly taxing unfortunately makes most of these caches unsuitable for wheelchairs. This path is a very nice peaceful woodland walk along the side of the river Tame to one of my favourite places – the weir and bridge at the bottom of Gibraltar Lane. These caches placed with kind permission of Tameside Countryside Service who do a sterling job to maintain these woods to such a high standard, so we can all enjoy them.
