Geocache Description:

This cache is in honour of one of the first settlers and pioneers in the Rotomanu District on the West Coast.

John Evans Plaque

There is little information about John Evans other than on the plague. Breaking in this country must have been tough! Placement of this cache is in lieu of the original intentions but some new fencing caused a rethink. Looking down from the bridge it's not uncommon to see large amounts of trout lazing in the crystal clear water. Remember that the locals might travel a bit faster than you would so take care of the little ones!
