While I was out here rounding up Tahoe Tessie Eggs I just got a glimpse of this formation from through the trees. I had to walk over to get a look at it and I was impressed not only by the formation itself, but I also discovered that it is right in the middle of a very technical section of the Dirty Harry mountain biking trail. Just a little ways below here on the trail there is a spot where the trail goes nice and vertical through a tight section of trees and hits a jump that sends the rider launching right over a jeep trail to continue the descent. A mountain bike is not needed to get to the cache as it is a short walk over from one of the jeep trails that in the dry months 2wd will get you to within 500 feet. If you haven't been to the top of Martis Peak then you need to go up there because the views are amazing.
