At a loose end? Fancy a picnic and some caching to round off the summer? Come and join us at Knettishall Heath on the Norfolk/Suffolk border for a relaxed time picnicing, walking and caching! (Weather not guaranteed!!)
The coordinates above are for the proposed rendezvous for the event, we shall be meeting from 11am (though some folks may arrive earlier, some later as several seem to be going on to do a night cache later!).
The main parking (P1) is £1 all day, the alternative is I believe free but is a short walk from the toilets and is also smaller. - UPDATE - Weston Wanderer has advised that parking is FREE until Sept 1st! No excuse not to come!
There are a number of local caches (mostly set by the excellent Weston Wanderer who has just set out 14 new ones just for this event) so you can choose to relax or go hunting as the mood takes you! Hopefully we'll get some trackables to swap too and maybe some new caches will be published too...watch this space!
We have been granted kind permission by the landowners, Suffolk Wildlife Trust to hold the picnic here, they aren't doing anything jointly any more but they are having a shelter building activity from 2-4pm for the families which is free. Let's show them what a great bunch of folks we are and be the perfect visitors, maybe even some CITO action could take place! Many thanks to Weston Wanderer for sorting out the permission.
