This is the second of our two Geocaching events planned for here this year. Everyone is invited for another day of roaming the woods in search of plastic boxes, old and new, with some novelty caches flung in for good measure.
Crombie Country Park is 102ha in area and includes Crombie Loch, broadleaf and coniferous woodlands, childrens play areas, orienteering courses, nature trails and woodland walks. Picnic and barbeque areas are available all year round and marquees can be hired between April and September.
On the loch you can see Grebes, heron and a variety of water fowl. The woodlands are home to red squirrels, woodpeckers, roe deer and hedgehogs
The event starts at 12pm on Saturday 8th September and we will have the use of the garden marquee and barbeque as last time. We're aiming to have the barbeque ready for 2pm, and would appreciate donations to cover the cost of the food, drinks and ancillaries as these are all being supplied by the Backmuir Team. Donations of home baking would be very much appreciated.
Please note that there is a charge of £2.50 for car parking (Angus Council charge).
Please watchlist this page for more details.
If you missed the last event, or have yet to visit Crombie, there are three existing trails of caches, Team Clova's Winnie the Pooh trail, The Gruffalo Trail and the wildlife trail - with a few fun caches lobbed in for good measure.
Sunshine has been ordered. Delivery is another matter............
