Cache localizado en la vereda que lleva al Pico de las Aguilas en el volcan Xinantecatl. El Xinantecatl (conocido tambien como el Nevado de Toluca) es el 4to pico mas alto de México y como indica su nombre en Castellano, comúnmente está nevado. En la opinion de un servidor, este es una de las montañas altas mas accesibles de México. Ideal tambien para aclimatarse a las subidas de alta montaña como lo son el Iztaccihuatl y el Pico de Orizaba. Aunque no es exactamente el punto medio de la vereda ya que a estas alturas estas a mas o menos 2/3 partes del recorrido desde el area de estacionamiento, si es el punto en el que en base a tiempo y dificultad representa la mitad del camino al pico.
Para llegar a este cache, toma la vereda que parte del area de estacionamiento hacia las lagunas. Cuando llegues al punto donde inicia la bajada hacia el crater (y las lagunas) toma la vereda que parte hacia tu mano derecha. Esta vereda esta muy interesante. Hay puntos en los cuales tienes una vista panoramica de todo el crater. Vale bien la pena. No esta muy complicado llegar hasta aqui. De hecho acostumbro llevar a mis hijos por esta vereda de manera regular.
Una vez en el lugar busca entre las piedras... Espero que ubiques el lugar entre las miles de piedras que existen en este pico!

This cache is located on the trail that leads you to the Pico de las Aguilas in the Nevado de Toluca (Xinantecatl). The Xinantecatl is the 4th highest mountain in Mexico and as its name in Spanish implies (roughly translated to Snowy Peak of Toluca) it is typically covered with snow. This is one of the most accessible high mountains in Mexico. It is often climbed my people who want to prepare themselves for other high peaks in the region such as the Iztaccihuatl and Pico de Orizaba. Although this isn't exactly the half way point since you are roughly 2/3 of the way to the peak from the parking area, in my opinion it is the half way mark from a time and difficulty perspective.
To reach this cache, take the trail that starts from the parking area towards the lagoons. Once you reach the rim of the crater towards the lagoons, take the trail that leads off to the right. This is a very interesting trail. There are many points where you will have a complete panoramic view of the crater. This is not a very complicated trail. In fact, I regularly take my kids up this trail.
Once at GZ, look in the rocks... I hope you find it amongst the thousands of rocks in this place!
