Geocache Description:

Welcome to Camp Sienna.  We hope you enjoy all the resources here.

Welcome to Camp Sienna!

Camp Sienna is a 160 acre sports park that serves a variety of athletic pursuits along the Brazos River Corridor - a geographic area designated for economic development. Camp Sienna is owned by the Sienna Plantation Levee Improvement District (LID) of Fort Bend County and is managed by SPRAI.

Camp Sienna not only provides active and passive recreational opportunities, but is also a major first step toward the development of the Brazos River Corridor. Planned for long-term development, the Corridor will provide Fort Bend County residents with natural parklands including canoeing and fishing access along the Brazos River, trails, picnic facilities and playgrounds.

The park hours are dawn to dusk. Teams and residents can reserve the facilities later into the night and there is good lighting for them. Once a year in October, SPRAI hosts a community campout here. In 2010 they had over 400 people camping on the soccer fields and the Boy Scout Troop did 500 S'Mores!

Sienna is patroled by Fort Bend Shieff deputies who often turn around in the park since its the end of the road.

This cache used to be the Final of a multi cache that took you on a tour of the area... The stages were hidden so that you got to visit the follwoing:

Baseball and Softball Fields and Batting Cages

The second stage used to bring you to the middle of our ball fields.  Baseball fields to the right and Softball fields to the left. The batting cages were recently added for our local teams use and are not available to the general public.

Soccer Fields and Pavilion
Soccer is a pretty big deal here and during peak season, there can be nearly a dozen games going at once. Big kids, little kids and adults leagues play all day long and into the night with the big lights.

Volley Ball, Basketball, and Walking Trails
Basketball is very popular and the court often has a game going on and there are are over 2 miles of walking trails including two river overlooks. Of course if you are looking for a cache, you may find yourself going off trail a bit.

The Final
The final will take you slightly off the trail where you will find a large regular sized container filled with kid and sports SWAG.

As I was converting this cache from the multi-final to a traditional, I noticed that there was remenants near by from when the HOA would have a haunted trail down here for holloween.  Apparantly it was to scary, so they don't do it anymore.

The orginal multi cache (now archived) was:  http://coord.info/GC30M62
