Geocache Description:

Come take a break and join us on the river for a float again! This is a relaxing float down the McKenzie River from Hayden bridge to Armitage Park. We did this float with kids young as 4 before. It was peaceful and this is a calm stretch of river. Not really a rough rapid in sight. There were people floating on everything so dust off your floatables, get your life-jackets out (THEY ARE REQUIRED BY LAW), and join us for another fun and relaxing day on the river.

Meet at 1130 am to fill rafts. There will be a potluck after so bring a main and a side to share. Contact us for concerns and if you would be interested in a prerun and cache placement i'm thinking wknd before or 2 wknds before. lets try to keep the parking at hayden bridge to a minimum. maybe drop rafts and people and then drive back to armitage and carpool back to hayden. then a few big rigs take people back to retrieve their rigs. in the past we have potluck bbqed right there where the rafts come out at armitage. sharing sides and providing our own main. by the time we are off the river it is much needed and we get to share our river chat. i will have a propane bbq and if you have one bring it. walmart has water tight lock boxes for about 6-10 bucks to keep cell phones, wallets, cameras and car keys safe in with a caribeener attached. which is nice to attach to your person in case of an accidental dunk in the river. lets try to leave hayden by noon???? there will be a brief safety chat given by godux before launching. feel free to bring snacks, drinks and small ice chests on the river you will get thirsty. this is alot of fun we try to stick together and cache and sing... we bring a small radio on our raft. also the dollar tree has xxl ziploc bags they come 2 in the box perfect for snacks and towels and keeping them dry. they are located by the clothes line. okay enough tips. hope to see alot of people make this event it is a blast and every year i get emails about if im gonna do this again.... OF COURSE I AM IT IS A BLAST. FEEL FREE TO JOIN THE EVENT IN PROGRESS AT ARMITAGE FOR JUST POTLUCK IF YOU CANT MAKE THE FLOAT. WE SHOULD BE THERE AROUND 5ISH???? COME HELP US PULL IN OUR FLOATILLA THERE IS A PARKING FEE AT BOTH ARMITAGE AND HAYDEN BRIDGE AND PASSES ARE 3 BUCKS AND NEED TO BE PURCHASED AT ARMITAGE PARK. PLEASE DONT RUIN YOUR TRIP BY RECIEVING AN EXPENSIVE PARKING TICKET.
