Geocache Description:

Fisherman's Landing is a newly created park in the shadows of the South Grand Island Bridges.

From 1938 until the early 1980s, this site was used as a wastewater treatment facility. It sat unused for about 15 years when plans were drafted to convert the area into a public park. In 2007, a grant was applied from the Niagara Greenway Commission to create a new fishing spot on the Niagara River. The half million dollar funding project was approved in the first round of approvals by the Commission. A ribbon cutting was held May 15, 2012 to formally open the park.

I'm not a fisherman, so I can't attest to the quality of fish that can or can't be caught here. So if that isn't your thing, grab the cache and enjoy the view of the river and Grand Island Bridge. You're looking for a small screw top container. Parking is available in the designated lot across the street, unless you have a handicap parking permit in which you can actually park in the park. Please refrain from taking the shortcut through the landscaping when walking to the cache, and obey the sign saying to stay out of the bioretention pond (that was empty at the time of the cache hide). The park is open from dawn to dusk, so please no night caching. And because you are on Grand Island, always be aware of any possible ticks that may want to hitch a ride.
