Geocache Description:

This is one of many caches released at the Black Hills Geobash V, 2012.

This cache is located at the south entrance to the Fort Meade Recreation Area and across the road from the VFW Memorial Chapel.

The 6,693-acre Fort Meade Recreation Area is notable for its place in western history. This popular area is a mix of forest and midgrass prairie on the eastern foothills of the Black Hills, adjacent to Sturgis, South Dakota, in Meade County.

The area is currently being managed for wildlife, cultural resources, grazing, forestry, and a variety of recreational uses under the multiple use-management concept.

The Fort Meade Recreation Area offers a broad variety of resource based recreational opportunities which include archery, hunting, fishing, horseback riding, hiking, camping, birdwatching, bicycling, picnicking, non-motorized winter sports, sightseeing, and pleasure driving on a national backcountry byway.

The annual Sturgis / Ft. Meade Volksmarch is held on the south half of the unit. (source, blm.gov)

You are looking for a small container hidden well at the posted coordinates. Please re-hide the cache at least as good as you found it, so nearby wildlife doesn't happen upon it and cart it off to be used as a wall for their home. You may or may not need a writing instrument to sign the log
