This is another in our series dedicated to the Baccalieu Trail. Our goal is to get a cache in every community along the Baccalieu Trail.
Old Perlican is one of the larger communities along the Baccalieu Trail. It's major economy is the fishery with two fish processing plants, but there are also other businesses in the community. There are several small convenience stores, a couple of gas bars, and a grocery store. There is a high school and a small hospital there as well. In the summer time the Beckkett Heritage House is open to visitors and it tells the history of the community.
I (Kim) currently live in this community as I work at the hospital.
The cache is located at a lookout in the community with a great view of the island and the community wharf. On a clear day you can also see across to the other side of Trinity Bay.
