Jøkulhytta - Close to the highest point on Hardangerjøkulen.
Jøkulhytta ligger på en fjellknaus innpå Hardangerjøkulen. Hardangerjøkulen er den sjette største isbreen på Norges fastland, og ligger i Eidfjord og Ulvik kommuner i Hordaland. Arealet er cirka 73 km² og det høyeste punktet på breen er 1 863 moh.
Hardangerjøkulen er en typisk platåbre på vannskillet mellom Østlandet og Vestlandet. Breen har flere brearmer, der Blåisen og Middalsbreen øst mot Finse og Rembesdalskåka vest mot Simadalen, er mest kjent. Ved Rembesdalskåka ligger DNT Fjellsport Oslos hytte Demmevasshytta.
Hardangerjøkulen inngår i Skaupsjøen/Hardangerjøkulen landskapsvernområde, som ble opprettet den 10. april 1981 og dekker et areal på 553,747 km².
Cachen kan både nås på sommer og vinter. Følg merket løype og vær obs på områder med bresprekker. På sommerstid må krever området tau og stegjern, samt kunnskap om hvordan slikt skal brukes.

The cabin Jøkulhytta is located on a small rocky area of Hardangerjøkulen. Hardangerjøkulen is the sixth largest glacier in mainland Norway, and is located in Eidfjord and Ulvik municipalities.
Hardangerjøkulen's highest point is 1,863 m (6,112 ft) above sea level, and is the highest point in Hordaland. This point is close to the cabin. Its lowest point is 1,050 m (3,440 ft) above sea level.
The glacier is easily accessed from the north in the winter, from the railway station Finse on Bergensbanen. In the winter the highest point can be accessed from Finse using only skis.
The 1980 movie Star Wars Episode V: The Empire Strikes Back used Hardangerjøkulen as a filming location, for scenes of the ice planet Hoth, including a memorable battle in the snow.
The cache should be easy to find in both winter and summer, but the area is safest in the winter. Be aware of dangerous parts of the glacier. During the summer, rope and crampons are necessary.
UPDATE May 17. 2015: New box is in place. You will find it in the very first hallway. Approx. 2.2 meters above floor level. Small plastic box (0.5 liter).
